The USDA-Risk Management Agency (RMA) announced last Friday (2/15) the 2013 crop year projected prices for corn, grain sorghum, cotton, rice and soybeans.

The “projected price” discovery period for spring planted crops runs from January 15 to February 14, 2013.
An average of daily settlement prices from the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) are used to derive the “projected price” for the various crop insurance products.

The USDA-Risk Management Agency (RMA) announced earlier this week the 2013 crop year projected price for soft red winter wheat. The projected price approved for the Yield Protection, Revenue Protection, and Revenue Protection with Harvest Price Exclusion plans was $8.57 per bushel.
