The price graph for this past week in the Arkansas No. 2 Yellow Corn Cash Market provided little trend insight with no Monday quotes due to the Labor Day holiday and no USDA-AMS report provided for Arkansas on Thursday (Figure 1). The market rose 4 cents over the extended weekend and opened on Tuesday at $3.69, a 7 cent gain over the statewide average opening price of the previous week Monday trading. The market gained another cent on Wednesday before skipping Thursday reports and then closed out the week with a 10 cent Friday gain. The closing Friday statewide average was $3.80, an overall 15 cent improvement from the previous week closing average. Highest daily individual market price for the past week was $3.88 at Osceola on Friday. The low quote of the week was $3.64 at both Osceola and Blytheville on Monday. Seven markets provided quotes each trading day during the past week. Prices for the closing on Friday across the seven reporting markets ranged from a low of $3.77 at Pine Bluff to the high of $3.88 at Osceola. The closing range of 11 cents was unchanged from the previous week.
