The past week was mildly favorable for Arkansas No. 2 Yellow Corn Cash Market as price recovered from a weekend 7 cent fall to post a slight overall gain for the week (Figure 1). The market opened on Monday at a statewide average of $3.89, a 9 cent decline from the previous week opening day average and 7 cents under the previous week closing average. Price exactly recovered that loss on Tuesday and stayed within a 3 cent range before closing higher on Friday. The closing statewide average of $3.97 left 2019 corn with an overall weekly gain of 1 cent from the previous week close. Highest daily individual market price for the past week was $4.09 at Pine Bluff on Friday. Low quote of the week was $3.69 at Little Rock on both Monday and Thursday. Closing prices on Friday ranged from allow of $3.74 at Little Rock to the high of $4.09 at Pine Bluff. The closing range of 35 cents was unchanged from the previous week. Only five markets provided price quotes during the past week as Blytheville and West Memphis dropped out. Helena and Osceola also failed to provide price quotes on Monday.
