Another short week of reporting for the Arkansas 2018 No. 2 Yellow Corn Cash Market as USDA-NASS announced no reports for Thursday and Friday of this past trading week. The market lost 6 cents over the weekend and opened on this past Monday at $3.87, 1 cent above the prior week opening day. Market quotes were inconsistent with Blytheville and Osceola completely absent, West Memphis suddenly providing quotes, and Helena absent on Monday. Daily statewide averages showed the market as steady on Tuesday and 1 cent higher on Wednesday to close out reports for the week. Closing price on Wednesday stood at a statewide average of $3.88 (Figure 1). The closing price represented a 5 cent decline from the previous week closing day average. Highest daily individual market price for the past week was $3.96 at Helena on Tuesday. Low quote of the week was $3.79 at Little Rock on Wednesday. Closing prices on Wednesday ranged from the low of $3.79 at Little Rock to a high of $3.93 at West Memphis, Helena, and Old Town/Elaine. The 14 cent range was 4 cents wider than the previous week.
