The Arkansas 2018 No. 2 Yellow Corn Cash Market continued its downward trend through the early part of the past week before staging a modest rally to close trading (Figure 1). Price was overall unchanged over the extended weekend from no Thursday or Friday reports and opened on Monday at $3.65, 4 cents under the previous Monday level. Consecutive 4 cent losses on Tuesday and Wednesday took the market to a low of $3.57 before seeing 1 and 4 cent gains to end the week. The Friday closing statewide average was $3.62, 3 cents under the early closing mark of the previous week. Highest daily individual market price over the past week was $3.80 at Pine Bluff on Monday. Low quote of the week was $3.42 at Little Rock on Wednesday. The closing day prices ranged from a low of $3.46 at Little Rock to a high of $3.76 at Pine Bluff. These ending quotes represented a range of 30 cents, a narrowing of 10 cents from the previous week range. Six markets were reporting when trading closed for the week as Helena rejoined the group on Tuesday of the past week.
