The Arkansas 2018 No. 2 Yellow Corn Cash Market lost 6 cents over the weekend from the previous Friday closing price, but then had daily gains through the remainder of the week to close higher compared to the previous week close (Figure 1). The market opened on Monday at a statewide average of $3.61, 17 cents under the previous week opening day. Price then rose daily to reach a $3.76 daily statewide average on Friday, 9 cents over the previous Friday closing price. Highest daily individual market price over the past week was $3.93 at Pine Bluff on Friday, the third straight week without a plus-$4.00 individual daily quote. Low quote of the week was $3.47 at Little Rock on Monday. Closing day prices ranged from a low of $3.58 at Little Rock to the high of $3.93 at Pine Bluff. These ending quotes represented a range of 35 cents, 5 cents wider than the previous week closing range. The change in range may have been influenced by a change in reporting locations. Blytheville provided a price quote on Friday for the first time since February and Osceola failed to provide a quote on Friday after continuous reporting since the last day of February. Four markets ended the week providing price quotes.
