Arkansas corn market report for January 14-18, 2019

The Arkansas 2018 No. 2 Yellow Corn Cash Market fell 1 cent over the weekend from the previous Friday closing price.  The market moved lower on Tuesday before regaining momentum to post gains each remaining day of the past trading week (Figure 1).  Trading opened on Monday at a statewide average of $3.77, an even 10 cents under the previous Monday average.  An 8 cent loss on Tuesday was more than recovered as price climbed to a Friday closing statewide average of $3.82, a 4 cent overall gain from the previous week statewide closing average on Friday.  Highest daily individual market price over the past week was $3.97 at Pine Bluff on Friday.  Low quote of the week was $3.56 at Little Rock on Tuesday.  End-of-the-week quotes saw Friday closing day prices ranging from a low of $3.67 at Little Rock to the high of $3.97 at Pine Bluff.  These ending quotes represented a range of 30 cents, unchanged from the previous week closing range.  Seven markets provided price quotes throughout the past week.
