Arkansas 2018 No. 2 Yellow Corn Cash Market lost 1 cent over the past weekend and never gained strength, even suffering a late week decline. The market opened on Monday at a statewide average of $3.85 and remained within 1 cent of that level until a Thursday 7 cent loss. The market regained 3 cents on Friday and closed for the week at a Pre-Christmas statewide average of $3.80, a 6 cent decline from the previous Friday statewide closing average (Figure 1). The market traded over a wider range than in the previous week. Highest daily individual market price over the past week was $3.96 at Pine Bluff on Tuesday. Low quote of the week was $3.60 at Little Rock on Thursday. Market reporting continued to expand as Helena resumed providing price quotes for this week. End-of-the-week quotes saw Friday closing day prices ranging from a low of
$3.64 at Little Rock to a high of $3.89 at Pine Bluff. The ending quotes represented a range of 25 cents, a 5 cent widening compared to the previous week closing range.
