Arkansas corn market report for Oct. 22-26, 2018

The Arkansas 2018 No. 2 Yellow Corn Cash Market gained 3 cents over the weekend and then struggled to hold it through the remainder of the week.  AMS did not publish a report on Thursday, but resumed on Friday to end the week.  The market opened on Monday at a statewide average of $3.61, a loss of 5 cents from the previous Monday opening average.  Price fluctuated within a 3 cent range around the opening price through the week and closed with a weekly low daily average of $3.60 on Friday (Figure 1).  The closing average price left the market 2 cents over the previous Friday closing statewide average.  Highest daily individual market price over the past week was $3.70 at Little Rock on both Monday and Tuesday.  Low quote of the week was $3.51 at Blytheville on Wednesday.  End-of-the-week quotes saw Friday closing day prices ranging from a $3.52 low at Blytheville to a high of $3.68 at Little Rock.  The ending quotes represented a range of 16 cents, just a 1 cent narrowing compared to the previous week closing range.  The same five individual markets continued to provide price quotations throughout the past week.
