In the south, rain has been excessive with Jefferson County receiving 6.9 inches and continuing. Lee County has not been harvested and the yield data is pending for Jefferson County.
In the north, the small amount of harvest that occurred was limited to a few hours of 1 day out of the last 7 due to the wet weather. Unfortunately, this will not bode well for milling quality in many cases but at least most unharvested rice remains standing. All harvest data is now in for Craighead, Jackson and St. Francis. Data for Randolph is still pending. Poinsett and Woodruff are ready for harvest once the sunshine returns.
