The Arkansas 2018 No. 2 Yellow Corn Cash Market lost 1 cent over the past weekend and suffered a major loss on Wednesday toward an overall lower close (Figure 1). The market opened on Monday at a statewide average of $3.52, just 1 cent under the first day of trading in the previous week. But a 2 cent Tuesday loss was followed by a 15 cent decline on Wednesday. The market then dropped another cent on Thursday to end the week. No market report was submitted by AMS on Friday. The closing statewide average of $3.34 on Thursday was 19 cents under the previous Friday statewide average. Highest daily individual market price over the past week was $3.58 at Pine Bluff on both Monday and Tuesday. Low quote of the week was $3.26 at West Memphis and Old Town/Elaine on Thursday. End-of-the-week quotes saw Thursday closing day prices ranging from the $3.26 low at West Memphis and Old Town/Elaine to a high of $3.42 at Pine Bluff. The ending quotes represented a range of 16 cents, a 5 cent widening compared to the previous week closing range. Seven individual markets ended the week providing price quotations as Osceola resumed reporting.
