2018 Rice Field Day – Friday, Aug. 3

University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture

Rice Research & Extension Center

The 2018 Rice Field Day will be held this Friday, August 3rd, 2018 at the Rice Research & Extension Center near Stuttgart (see Flyer).

Field tours begin at 7:30 a.m. followed by a short indoor program at 11:30 a.m. and lunch.

Tours will depart from the Foundation Seed Facility.  Each field tour will run twice, at both 7:30 and 9:30 a.m, and return at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m.

In order to attend all available tour stops, you’ll need to go on one tour at 7:30 a.m. and the next at 9:30 a.m.

Tour 1

Stop 1 – Irrigation Management with Dr. Chris Henry

Stop 2 – Rice Weed Management with Dr. Jason Norsworthy

Stop 3 – Soil Fertility & Agronomy with Drs. Trent Roberts and Jarrod Hardke

Tour 2

Stop 1 – Entomology with Dr. Nick Bateman and Mr. Aaron Cato

Stop 2 – Rice Pathology with Dr. Yeshi Wamishe

Stop 3 – Hybrid Breeding & High Nighttime Temperatures with Drs. Ehsan Shakiba and Manuel Esguerra

Stop 4 – Breeding with Drs. Karen Moldenhauer and Xueyan Sha

 

The Rice Research & Extension Center is located 7 miles east of Stuttgart on Hwy. 130.  The address is 2900 Hwy. 130 E., Stuttgart, AR 72160.
