As usual for this time of year rainfall was spotty across the state, ranging from zero at several fields to 3.2” at Conway with some lodging from the storms. With forecast over the weekend and early next week, hopefully all areas of the state will get in on substantial rain. Irrigation continues in areas that didn’t receive rain. However irrigation was terminated in Jefferson, as it has reached R6, with Ashley and Lonoke not far behind. Heligen applications last week seem to be working as worms in those fields were very lethargic and didn’t seem to be feeding. With its slow activity, hopefully dead worms will be found next week.
