By Chuck Capps, Corn and Grain Sorghum Research Verification Program Coordinator
A very low level of Southern rust has been confirmed in our Clay County field as well as the Prairie County field. Levels are very low. Desha County has reached black layer and Prairie County is very close. We are terminating irrigation on a few fields this week. We achieved very good control of sorghum head worms in both of the Grain Sorghum Research Verification Fields with very light Sugarcane aphid pressure. We are irrigating the Cross County Field for the last time this week.
