Rainfall over the past week was very spotty ranging from zero at several locations to 1.5” at Cross 2. As a result, irrigation initiated or resumed for most fields. Insects remain a low levels statewide, although Jefferson is now running 5 stink bugs/25 sweeps. Several of the fields have yet to lap the middles, and as the next generation of corn earworms begin emerging from corn, these fields will be scouted very closely as they should be preferred locations for the moths. Diseases remain non-existent with the exception of Miller where very low incidence of Frogeye Leaf Spot appeared this week.
