Rate of acephate extended for redbanded stink bug in soybean
Author: Gus Lorenz, Extension Entomologist

By Gus Lorenz, Extension Entomologist

In an effort to help with control of redbanded stink bug, we requested a 24c to extend the annual use rate of acephate from 1.5 lb ai per acre to 2.0 lb so per acre. Our studies show that acephate particularly when mixed with a pyrethroid, such as bifenthrin, provides very good control of the redbanded stink bug. Due to the mild winter redbands have moved across most of the soybean growing region and poses a serious threat to grower’s yield.

Emergency label extended rate:  AR17-0003_ORTHENE97
