The 2017 SRVP got off to an earlier start as compared to the past few years with 8 fields planted and several more waiting to dry from this week’s rain. Emergence has taken longer and been a little weak from cool weather the last part of March and early April. All fields emerged with acceptable stands, but just a little on the light side in Jefferson. Pre-emergence herbicide applications have been working very well with timely rainfall.
