Soybean research verification program update for August 8, 2014

Rainfall was scattered across the SRVP fields this week. Irrigation continues to be top priority at this point in the program and we have terminated irrigation a few fields. Overall insect and disease pressure was light in the verification fields this week; however we did reach treatment level for bollworms in Clark County and frogeye in one of the Phillips County fields.

County Variety Stage General Information
Arkansas Asgrow 5233 RR/ STS R5 Received .47” rain. Irrigated 8-4-14. Clean of insects. New leaves are clean of Frogeye. Field looking much better. Irrigate again on 8-12.
Clark NKS48-F8 RR R4 Received 1” rain. Treatment level bollworms (12/25 sweeps). Recommended 2 oz Belt. Free of diseases. Other than being weedy, field is looking good. Irrigate over the weekend.
Clay Halo 5:26 LL R3 Field received 1” rainfall since last visit. Field was irrigated on 8-4. No insect or disease pressure this week. Field continues to grow well.
Cross Progeny 4211 RR R6 No rain since last visit. Recommended another irrigation to finish the beans out. Insect & disease pressure remain low. Field looks promising.
Desha ArmorDK 4744 RR R6 Received .25” rain. Pick up polypipe. Clean of insects.
Jefferson Delta Grow4990LL R3 Received .55” rain. Irrigated 8-4-14. Free of insects and disease. Field is beginning to look very good for late planting. Irrigate again on 8-12.
Lawrence – Rice Asgrow 4232 RR R3  Field received 0.1” of rainfall since last visit. Insect & disease pressure was light this week. Field was irrigated again on 8-2.
Lawrence – Wright Leland R3  Field received 0.2” rain since last visit. Started back with irrigation on 8-4. No insect or disease pressure this week. Beans continue to move forward and have responded well to irrigation.
Lafayette Pioneer94Y80 RR R6 Received 2.1” rain. Pick up polypipe. Clean of insects.
Lee Asgrow4632 RR/STS R2 Irrigated 1” with pivot 8-3 for Dual re-activation. Still clean of pigweeds. Few morning glories emerged.   Recommended 22 oz RoundUp PowerMax plus 1.5 pints Flexstar and irrigate again.
Phillips-1 Osage R5 Sprayed with 10 oz Quadris Top for Frogeye. Field has really come progressed and looks very good. Irrigate again over the weekend.
Phillips-2 Asgrow 4632 RR/STS  R5 Irrigated 8-2-14. Stink bugs running 2/25 sweeps. Free of disease. Field continues to look better each week with exception of missing pod on couple of nodes. Irrigate again on 8-10.
Prairie Pioneer 95Y40 RR R3 We got 0” of rain on field since last week. Started back with irrigation on 8-5-14. No insect or disease pressure this week.
St. Francis TV 49L29 LL R5 Field received no rainfall since last week. Field received 1.” from irrigation on 8-1 and responded well. No insect or disease pressure this week.
White NK S49-F8 RR R3 Field received 0” rain since last week. Irrigation was started on 8-4. Field continues to move forward and looks good. Insect & disease pressure was low this week.
