USDA – NASS released its first U.S. Crop Progress report for 2014 this afternoon. It included planting progress, as of April 6, for cotton, sorghum, and rice. Winter wheat condition ratings were included as well.
Overall, U.S. sorghum and rice planting are lagging the 5-year average pace in all states, while cotton is slightly ahead of normal in the few states (Texas, Arizona, California) that have planted.
