Soybean cash market and forward booking prices in Arkansas for Oct. 17-18, 2013
Author: Bob Stark, Agricultural Economist

USDA crop reporting resumed on Thursday, October 17, following resolution of the Federal government shutdown.  Old 2012 Soybean Crop and New 2013 Soybean Crop market trading was uneven across Arkansas as the markets tried to reestablish acceptable prices.  Both markets ranged from a low of $12.56 to a high of $13.21 as normal market convergence for October continued at several locations.  The Old Crop market price averaged $12.91 statewide on Friday and the New Crop market price averaged $12.90.  I should be able to compile regular cash and booking market summaries across the state next Friday if the markets continue to stabilize at the rate seen over the past two days.

(Market average prices stated in this report are unweighted averages of the state markets surveyed by NASS.  Price data was based on USDA LR GR111 Arkansas Daily Grain Reports.)
