The 2013 Mid-South Farm and Gin Show will be held on Friday, March 1 and Saturday, March 2 at the Memphis Cook Convention Center.  Show hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, March 1 and 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 2.  The Mid-South Farm and Gin Show has become the preeminent Farm Show in the Mid-South and beyond.  In 2012, approximately 400 exhibitors provided displays for the show.  In addition the these displays, an educational seminar will also be held on Friday, March 1.

A seminar focusing on irrigation technology will begin at 1:15 p.m. on the Mezzanine level and will continue to approximately 2:30 p.m.  Darrin Dodds from Mississippi State University will open the seminar with comments regarding the importance of proper irrigation management.  Dr. Jason Krutz from the Mississippi State University Delta Research and Extension Center will cover several aspects of furrow irrigation including irrigation scheduling and potential areas to conserve water resources.  Dr. Earl Voories will conclude the seminar and will be speaking about pivot irrigation including new technology available on pivot irrigation systems and potential benefits of this technology.

This educational seminar is designed to be flexible in nature.  Questions and audience participation are encouraged.  Please make plans to attend the 2013 Mid-South Farm and Gin Show as well as the educational seminar on Irrigation Technology.  Becoming more efficient with respect to irrigation and irrigation water use will help ensure the availability of this valuable resource for future generations.
