North Arkansas: The fields looked to have progressed very well this year and weed control has been good. Many of the fields were at ½ inch internode elongation and received the mid season urea applications. One hybrid rice field received a mid season application due to early nitrogen deficiency. The remaining fields should be at ½ inch internode elongation in the coming week.
South Arkansas: Four fields are at the mid boot stage and four fields are at ½ inch internode elongation. Two fields are at panicle initiation and one is early tiller stage. Several fields have received mid season fertilizer applications. Sheath Blight has shown up in CL 111 in Chicot County. Stink bugs are lurking in and around fields waiting on heads to emerge.
