Cotton Research Verification Final Update for 2011

General Comments: This is the final update for the 2011 Cotton Verification Program. The average yield of the program was 988 lbs/A which is 53 lbs greater than the state average of 935 lbs/A. All of the lint prices are calculated using an average price of $0.90/ lb. The total costs for these fields do not include rent or management expenses. Clay- Variety: Deltapine 0912 B2RF The Clay County field was the highest yielding field at 1348 lbs/A. The total crop revenue was $1213.14 and total costs were $616.90 leaving a return of $596.23.
Craighead- Variety: Deltapine 0912 B2RF The Craighead County field had the second highest yield of 1248 lbs/A. The total crop revenue was $1122.90 and total costs were $675.39 leaving a return of $447.51.
Mississippi- Variety: Deltapine 0912 B2RF The Mississippi County field yielded the third highest with a yield if 1227 lbs/A. The total crop revenue was $1104.02 and total costs were $639.88 leaving a return of $464.14.
Lee Double Crop- Variety: Deltapine 0912 B2RF The Lee County field yielded 697 lbs/A. The total crop revenue was $627.30 and total costs were $518.78 leaving a return of $108.52.
Phillips- Variety: UA 48 Glyphosate drift greatly affected the yield of the Phillips County field. The field yielded 545 lbs/A. The total crop revenue was $490.50 and total costs were $494.29 leaving a return of -$3.79
Lincoln- Variety: Stoneville 5458 B2RF Boll rot affected the yield in Lincoln County, however, the field yielded 935 lbs/A. The total crop revenue was $841.50 and total costs were $671.28 leaving a return of $170.22
Jefferson- Variety: Stoneville 5458 B2RF The verification field in Jefferson County also had boll rot. The field yielded 915 lbs/A. The total crop revenue $823.41 was and the total costs were $479.31 leaving a return of $344.10.
