Corn and Grain Sorghum Research Verification Program Weekly Update – August 19, 2011
Author: Kevin Lawson, Program Associate - Corn & Grain Sorghum Verification

Harvest has started for the Corn and Grain Sorghum Research Verification Program.  Two corn fields and one grain sorghum field have been harvested so far.  Harvest started in Chicot County on August 6, followed by St Francis County on August 11 and Drew County on August 16.  Two more corn fields and the other grain sorghum field should be harvested in the next 10 days.  The other two fields continue to dry down.  Yields on the southern fields were very good as I expected.
