Due to the recent weather events that passed through the state recently the Soybean Research Verification Program has gotten off to a slow start. Between the excessive moisture and flooding rivers, we only have three fields planted to date. Hopefully, as the river levels continue to fall and the ground dries we will be able to get the remainder of the fields planted within the optimum planting window.
Chicot County (Pioneer 94Y70)
The field was planted on May 8th on 38” rows. An application of Glyphosate + Dual is scheduled for next week.
Desha County (North) (Armor 47R33)
The field had to be replanted due to rain, hail, and wind damage received from recent storm. Gramaxone and Valor was applied to take out existing stand and emerged pigweed. The location has a resistant pigweed population.
Drew County (Asgrow 4703)
The field was planted on April 13th and is at the V3 growth stage. Herbicide application was delayed due to the rainfall, but an application of Glyphosate + Dual + Classic was applied on May 11th.
