Corn and Grain Sorghum Research Verification Program Weekly Update April 8, 2011
Author: Kevin Lawson, Program Associate - Corn & Grain Sorghum Verification

Several of the corn fields got planted this week including Conway, Drew and Mississippi Counties.  The field in Chicot County is emerged and looks really good.  We got a good uniform emergence.  The other counties should be planting in the next few days if there is no rain.

The grain sorghum fields are both scheduled to be planted in the next two days.  Soil temperatures are running around 70 degrees.  Both fields have a seed treatment added to the seed to help with emergence and early insect control.
