A modest 2 cent increase over the weekend market break was a foreshadowing of a rather lackluster trading week as the Arkansas soybean cash market opened at $13.49 and stayed within a 15 cent spread throughout the week. The Arkansas cash market had three days of small gains spread around a 15 cent loss day before closing the week at $13.45 on Friday, an overall 2 cent loss from the previous Friday closing mark. High individual market daily average for the week was $13.73 at West Memphis on Monday. West Memphis, Helena and Old Town/Elaine on Tuesday were the only other market quotes at $13.70 or above during the week. The lowest individual market daily average was on Wednesday with $13.20 reported at both Jonesboro and Wheatley.
